I am looking for a new truck and I am fiding it really hard to find one. There are a lot of trucks around but no one wants to sell them. And the ones i am finding seem like they have a lot of miles. What do you guys feel is too many miles to buy a truck.

I had a 97 dodge with 230k miles and it was a great truck, wish i didnt sell it, i believe it has over 250k on it now. I have a 98.5 24 valve with 184k miles now and it runs great and i would expect it to run great till 500k. Just keep up the maintenence. I have 50k on my 04.5 and expect it to last to 500k as well. These motors were built to last, just have to keep up the truck around them.

I paid $10,400 for my '99 with 124,000 miles on it. I bought it on Ebay from a dealer in Texas. I budgeted $2,000 for repairs I expected to have to make (to fix DPO issues and other normal "used truck" stuff). So far, in 25,000 miles over 16 months, I've spent $1650, but that includes around $1250 for 5 new tires. The only other stuff I've had to do was replace the batteries, a starter (expected), and the crank postion sensor.
Still lovin' my truck.

I paid $21.5K for my 2001 silver sport LB in the end of July this year. When I purchased it had 26K miles on it, completely stock w/keyless entry, never been hooked upto a trialer even, and was in pristene condition (it even had the plastic covers still on the original factory floormats, plus the original tires from the factory were still on it with all factory options in place; i.e tow mirrors, sport package, cab lights etc...

I have an '01 for sale with 277,000 miles and it runs like a champ. No problem whatsoever, it's tight as the other '01 I have with 120k.
Since it's a 2wd I need to sell and I bought a 4x4 for wintertime, otherwise this truck would have never left my yard, I had many CTDs and this is by far one of the tightest.

I am only asking $ 6500 for it, it's a 6 speed HO long box quad cab. Only options not present are overhead comp, leather, and CD

i paid $17k for my '01 2500 with 70,000ish on the clock.

check the block, tranny, and fuel pressure before you buy it.

I paid 19.5K for mine two years ago with 86 on the clock. Other than the VP issue, no problems at all.

I paid $13.7K 2 years ago for an 01', CTD/6speed HO, Quad cab with all but leather, overhead computer. 79K miles on it at purchase.
