I read somewhere that the 2005 ctd has an in-tank lift pump, doe's anyone know if this a fact, or has anyone explored the possibility of retrofitting one to the earlier models? If it would work it might be another solution to our problem.

you might try this in third gen drivetrain.....mostly second gen guys here.
