Lift Pump

Just happened to see the topic about the lift pumps when I came to post my question. Just today I got codes p0216 and p1693 off my ecm. I checked this because of poor acceleration. I assume the lift pump is on its way out. I have 57000 miles on the truck. Is any of this still under the warranty? If not, what is the price of the parts? Looks like from what I can find they show about 0.7hr time for labor to fix the problem.

p0216 is injection pump timing error... p1693 is a companion code.

How big a deal is this or do I just need to have the timing adjusted?

The P0216 means the Injection pump is almost dead. Take it to the dealer if your still under 100k miles. They sould replace it for free. If not it's gonna cost you at least $1000 for a remaned VP.

This is a follow-up to my very first post. I retrieved these codes from a hypertech programmer that I had used for my truck. I got the codes when I reverted my program back to the factory settings. Now on the factory settings after driving the truck for a bit it seems to run well and I show no codes at all. Is it possible this program had something to do with the codes? I know that the hypertech changes the timing and the air -fuel mixture by the ecm.

That is quite possible.

I remember Superchips having a problem with one or more of their tuner versions setting codes for no reason.
They recalled the defective tuners and reprogrammed them.

Unhappy

Hi
I just picked up my truck and drove it home. It so far has been great. I check for codes with the key on off on off ect and also got the codes of p1693,p0216 and pecu. My truck is bone stock and has not had any mods of anysort as far as I know. The truck has 135,000kms or about 84,000miles on it. I did a warranty search and it looks like the injector pump and lift pump was just replaced last year. Could they be old codes? The truck runs fine but I don't have a FP gauge yet so I am a little uneasy with the codes.
