Injection Pump Question

i was wondering about doing a banjo bolt upgrade to get the fuel pressure up in the injection pump. my buddy did a homemade fix and said that it floods the engine for a little bit but overtime it got use to the extra fuel. what would be the gain in doing this. i have a fuel pressure gauge on the injection pump already.

Get rid of the banjo bolts, and put in regular JIC to hose barb fittings. Much more stable pressure thru out the primary fuel system.

A big Line kit from Vulcan has all the stuff you need.....did mine and have no regrets. You do need to drop the tank to install the pick-up fitting but not a big deal. I run 1/2" from the pick-up tube to the VP, with the Holley it holds 20psi at Idle and 16psi wide open.

BTW....good to see some Texan's on here! I am from Fort Worth but live in Newman Lake WA, these days.

As the other guys said, skip the banjo bolt upgrade and go to a Big Line kit.

I originally did the banjo bolt upgrade years ago, but then upgraded to something similar to what is now in the Vulcan kit. I didn't replace the fitting at the tank, but all banjo on the supply side of the system have been replaced with AN fittings and my fuel pressure from the stock lift pump never drops below 10psi.

You don't have to worry about "flooding" the engine. This upgrade only supplies more fuel to the VP44 which is beneficial since it provides added flow for cooling.

I went with the Draw Straw V for $49.99

http://www.vulcanperformance.com/Dra...Flow-p/dsv.htm

And the big line kit for $116.00

http://www.vulcanperformance.com/Dra...p/vpps9804.htm

My Holley pump was about $130.00 at Autozone. I also got a Moroso spring for the pump to get the 19-20 out of it, don't stretch the spring too much or you will get 30-35 psi!

I put this stuff in last summer and no issues yet.

I got the spring at a place in Spokane, WA called General Store....anything from hunting gear to car parts. I did not use the regulator and removed the screen.
