how to tell
crawl under the front, left side, and look up at the block on the front, directly under the injector pump (by the PS pump). You should see a large wiring harness mounted to the block. Directly below this, just above where the oil pan meets the block you will look for a "53" cast in the block. The numbers will be about 1 inch tall. Here is some more info

Correct! All 02's (and most 01's) have the excellent, heavy, Mexican block made in Alto Largo, by "Teksid".
Smaller # stamped on the block and more of them..... and hard to read.
These Mexican blocks are the strongest cast, ISB blocks ever Mfg.
Suggest changing signature to 01.5! Everyone will know what that means (except your Dodge dealer
).
