high idle
high idle
2001 Dodge Diesel HO 6 speed with 30K on it. Seems like my idle is creeping up a bit. Anyway I can lower it myself, without going to the dealer? Reset the APPS that didn't have any effect. I want it lower, like no more that 850 so I can hear the strokes of each piston at idle.
How much is a bit?
As far as I know, I dont think the idle is adjustable. May be do to the colder weather that the motor is just kicking it up a bit....since you are more north. BUT im in Texas...and we dont get conditions here usally to cause a diesel to go into cold start mode....if there is such a thing on the Cummins.....(i think i have seen it on here....dealer enabled?) I would like to have to option to change my idle as well.......wouldnt mind it sitting at around 1000 to 1100 on a cold morn....

SO it uses the IAT sensor to base the idle off of? So its not at 1200 all the time? HUM.....i wouldn't mind that.....especially after the cold week we just got.......now in the 60's....but im perching to the choir! Might as well have it when its needed!
