High Idle
High Idle
Good evening all,
I am looking into buying another CTD rig and am wondering what my options are with respect to the warm-up idle control. I started the thread and got the design off the ground a few years ago about the electrical DIY box to control the idle.
I am debating trading my 2006 Durabux Crewcab with every option available for a 2002 QCSB automatic. I've really come to enjoy the high idle feature on my Chevy... and the heated seats when it's -30F around here.
Anyways, I was sitting here thinking about easier ways to accomplish high idle, and I got to thinking...
What would happen if you added resistance (or took it away) to the circuits that are sensing the IAT and CTS values? You could do it the same way we did the box, use relays. Those are the primary players in enable the high and three cylinder idle correct?
How are those idle boxes holding up for those of you that built and installed them?
Food for thought from a crazy engineer.
