Has the VP44 been replaced?

Is there any way to tell if the VP44 has been replaced in the past? Is there a tag on VP indicating a replacement part number or something similar?

Could be important when purchasing a used truck...

The best way to check would be to look at the connector tube fittings. They are coated with a clear enamel so its very easy to tell if a wrench has been used on them. If the connector tubes show signes of being removed then its a good bet either the injectors have been pulled or the injection pump, or both.
