Fuel Problems.......
Fuel Problems.......
Ok here it is.. i started up the truck today and when i was driving to work i could hear the FASS2 working full tilt buggy for the entire trip to work.. ok so im little frustrated so i go to turn the filter end peace to drain some of the water out.. and NOTHING came out.. so i was like hmmmm must be clogged so i went to unscrew both the filters and the filter was empy of diesel.... had a small sip but nothing besides that and a lot of deposits in the bottom... so i checked the other filter same but little more fluid in it...........so im wandering whats going on... the truck is seeing 20PSI off the gauge at the Vp-44 but the pump is working overtime... has anyone else out there had this problem.. anyone know if there is a pump in the tank so if there is i can see if it killed over... makign the FASS work harder....thank god i have the FASS2 with the 180GPH pump or my VP would of been toasted already
has anyone heard of these being clogging in the tank?..... im not sure if the pump is going out or not... see i couldnt remember the last time i filled the truck up so i went and filled her up but only took 1/4 tank to fill up like the gauge showed..... but after i filled up the tank the pump didnt make the noise when i droove home from the gas station.
I replaced my fuel sender and the screen was nearly plugged solid in the tank. she really did not like that. on mine the sender float "dissolved" and whan it got low on fuel she sucked all the dust into the screen
i think that is my next guess... i went up to the local truck stop and got filters for the fass from them... was amazed of the price they gave me.... 3 micron baldwin replacement for 9.95 plus tax.... so i snagged one up... it made no difference but i did notice that the pump is running a little quieter then before.. but it sounds like it is constantly girgling air or something.. i mean it doesnt stop after you been driving for a while... still sounds like it is girgling.
by the way high country what was the price to replace all of that.. and how tuff was it.. i remember dropping the tank on my jeep wrangler a while back was a Pain in the Ars...... to finish installing my fuel pump out of the supercharger kit i was installing.

I only had to replace the sender @ 45.00. the module in the tank is outragously over priced, I would cut the screen out of the pickup and put a filter before your pump. the girgling could be a cracked pickup tube as they do not have the latteral support to withstand 600hp boost launches which I bet you never do
just kidding but they are pretty cheesey

hey whats this spring mod you talking about?... also i did notice there are signs of fuel leaking from over time on the clip on connection on the return line... but not sure of the rest.. how difficult was dropping the tank?...... how long everything take for you...? i was just wandering because i want to be able to properly plan enough time to finish in time.
