Re:Fuel Mileage
You are right. It sucks on your Cummins. Although winter blend fuel is the major cause of a drop in mileage right now (mines down over 1.5 mpg), yours is still pretty low. Have you torqued the intake manifold bolts to spec as well as the charge pressure hoses? Cleaned the IAT? Those two things can make a significant difference.

Re:Fuel Mileage
Think you are doing real good for your speeds, course I have a different sett-up. In my 2 back to back trips to Mesa,AZ,loaded out with near identical units,I found by dropping from 65 to 62 got me about .4 on the same stretches. Coming home I do limit + some. Seems as though playing and paying go together.
Wow,you do cover ground.Be safe.

CH:

All things considered (speeds, winter fuel, etc.), it doesn't sound too bad to me. My mileage is down too. It could be worse... You could be driving a V10 gasser!

Re:Fuel Mileage
My mileage varies when I'm loaded anywhere from9.5 to 14 thats in a 6x6 3:54 5spd that going 60 to 75 depending on the load. More wind drag less mileage. This was on the 01 when it was turned up. I get better mileage at around 2300 to2500 rpm. This is still alot better then any other dually that I've owned darn good for a 6x6

Re:Fuel Mileage
Ch. How did the trailer do. I hope no trouble. I was going to put the tag on, but forgot. Oh well. Sounds like what I am getting on mine also.

By the way, this may be a dumb question, but what is an IAT? My manifold hasnt been torqued. I did find the back bolt hanging out resently. I tightened it up though. Not with a torque wrench however.

Re:Fuel Mileage
I'm up here in Canada with temps. around 25 to 30F and I am getting around 18 to 20 mpg US depending if I drive like and old lady or spirited. In Summer I average between 20 and 22 MPG. ;D
