The dead pedal symptom is all too often just the throttle position sensor. You can tell for one if the cruise control buttons and accel buttons still work, or just restart the trucka nd it fixes the problem. Been there already!

I know this thread is kind of old, but I am haveing a simmilar problum. I am working on a buddys 2002 and the peddle will just go dead out of know where. It will not rais rpm, no smoke, nothing. I held it to the floor for about 10 seconds and then I heard a pop, then it worked fine. My buddy said that it has done that for him as well, or if he pushes in the clutch, and kills the engine, then restarts it, it will clear it up as well. It has been happening more and more, I am thinking vp44 but the truck only has 80k on it, and it runs fine when not doing this. Any Ideas? truck is stock.

Key on/off 3 times ..leaving it on the tird time..will show if there are code on the odometer.

Well I messed with the apps(tps sensor) for a while today, voltage was good and ground was good, I checked the votage on the signal wires and it went up and down smooth, it veryed from .1 volts to 3.8 at wot. Next I checked lp presher, it was low, like 6psi and would drop to 1 when you stab it. Then I noticed that if you just sit in nutral it would idle great but after 1200 rpm it would misfire hard and blow white smoke as if it were -10 out side( it was 85).
its weird because it drives fine and has power(most of the time) but unloaded it wont rev up and like I said misses hard while blowing smoke.I pulled p0122, and one for the speed control modual, p1693, and one for the fuel guage.
I cleared them and went for a drive, it then gave me the 1693( or 1593 whitch ever is the companion code) so I hooked it up to the scanner and there it was!!!! P0216 sssooo I orderd up a new IP and LP. I am 99% sure that is the issue, I think the low LP presher killed the IP.
It has a reman pump in it which must have been done by the dealer because my buddy bought it in 03 so it was only a year old at the time.
Any thoughts?

Another VP44?
My wife was driving my truck and it just started to bog down no power. We ideled the truck to a local shop and retrive the code P1693 no other codes. Truck is a 2001 2500 Qcab Auto w/ DD1 injectors and VA box with a boost fooler, turbo elbow. Truck idels bad, sounds like it has big cam and dead pedal. I unhooked all mods with no change. Local shop thinks TPS or IP. What do you all think.
