Hello to all!

Yesterday I picked bought a 2002 Ram 2500 HO, 6 speed. So far it seems like a nice truck. It has 109K miles and is basically stock. I have spent the last day reading and studying up on the trucks and am feeling a little paranoid about not havind a fuel pressure gauge. The truck seems to run fine but would feel better if I got a pressure guage. I was considering getting some guages from Vulcan performance. I pictures of a members guages that have a low pressure light. Anyone know what brand that is?

Now that the truck is home and I have crawled under the truck I have discovered a couple things that need fixing. First I noticed that the previous owner had a pyro guage as there is a threaded hole in the pipe coming out of the turbo and the truck has no muffler on it. Not sure if it will pass inspection here in NC. So to fix the issue I was considering getting the Banks 4'" eahaust and go ahead and spring for thei brake kit while I was at it. Anyone have any experience with their products or wisdom to share??? The other thing that I noticed while rolling around under there was is appears to have an axle leak on the drivers side? Is this a common proble or something difficult to fix? And lastly the transfer case looks to have an oil leak.

But over all I am happy with the truck! Look forward to many miles with it! All perls of wisdom or advice is appreciated.

Pretty good list of stuff but nothing sound major , the low pressure light is OK if you don't like looking at a gauge once and a while , 1 st thing get a fuel pressure gauge and if you don't have the bucks to buy a after market LP relocate it off the motor and get a big line kit that helped me a lot . In NC they never check for emissions on any diesel i have ever owned go to some one you know and i never trust the dealers good luck .

Unless you have a couple money trees out back you can pick up exhaust for alot cheaper then Banks. Yes get a press. gauge, it might save you in the future. Put some seals in it and have some fun!

Sounds like a good truck. I love my 02. Fuel pressure gage, not a light. If the light comes on you are already at the low limit. Best to catch it before that. Now go to the upper left corner of the screen and click on user CP, then edit signature so we can see any and all mods to the truck. This will help in the future to diagnose problems. Oh Yea, welcome to the site.

Any suggestions on a vendor that has good quality guages. I found some on Vulcan performance but they sell a couple different brands. Which barnd is the better buy?? I am loving the truck though!! I just need to get a few maintenance items worked out on the truck.

Who sells lift pump relocation kits? Any one brand better tan another?? I bought this truck on Saturday. When they cranked the truck up it took a few seconds for the truck to fire up, at the time I just thought they didn't give the glow plugs time to heat up. Well I have since been educating myself. I went to drive it yesterday. It was the first time I have driven the truck since buying the truck. I had a very hard time starting the truck. I had two codes P1693 and P0237. So today I plan on buying a MAP sensor and a IAT sensor and doing a ASSP reset when I get all my parts rounded up. I think I will replace the lift pump for now but would like to do the relocation and big line kit as was suggested earlier. Wish I had this knowledge on Saturday. However, I do still love the truck... I consider it it a diamond in the ruff.

I have Isspro gauges from Vulcan and like them allot. Get a FP gauge and fass or raptor fuel pump then you don't have to worry about the injection pump (as much).
