Cummins Engine Swap?
I was looking at the Cummins engine web site, and saw the info sheet on the ISC engines. The 315 engine produces 315 HP & 950 Lbs Torque. or the 350 engine @ 350 HP & 1050 Lbs torque. The engine weight is 1,530 Lbs & takes 6.3 Gallons of oil. Now I know the ISB engine weight is 962 Lbs, or 568 Lbs less than the ISC motor. Now the question, Has any one seen a conversion from the ISB to the ISC engine? And if you have, what size truck would you have to use.

There are pictures floating around of an F-250 with a C series Cummins shoehorned in. Lots of frame and suspension work, and the guy had to ditch the dash and build a doghouse. The C motor is just too big for a pickup, you need a medoum duty truck.
I have to second the question, why would you want to do such a conversion? Even if you were successful, nothing else about the stock truck would be up to what the new engine could do. You can easily mod the ISB to power levels beyond what the stock truck can stand... why spend the dollars to shoehorn in an ISC? If you need more hauling capacity it would probably be cheaper to just get a used MDT, which would have the added benefit of actually being useful for something.

I could see no point to an 8.3. My current engine is basically stock (not Dodge stock) and is only running an EZ other than the intake and exhaust. It pulls as good as you could want. It gets great economy. Anything more would just be to accellerate faster, and the 8.3 will never be a 0 to 60 engine.
