Codes p 1693 and p 1689 does these fall under my cummins warranty
Iv recently showed these codes on my Ram Cummins Diesel( P 1693 and P 1689)! truck stallls and dies at low rpms ,will crank up agian if i move the pdc connections a liitle bit ,but does not die if i do the same .The ? is how and if my dealer where i purchased the truck new will honor my warranty. The lift pump was replaced a couple months back (under warranty) i still think that a possible injector pump problem is or may occur . This truck has been back and forth to the dealership for problems over six times in as many months. **** its a 2001 with under 50,000 miles to say the least im a little dissapointed mainly with the my dealership!Any good insight folks ?

Bad dealersh????'s
Buy a CAT motor and remove the pain. Have been the the dollarships 39 times to get the engine fixed and nada. TOO complicated for them. It's bad voltage from the PDC. Have suggestions about what it might be.?????????????????????. Arced buss.

P1689 - No Communication Between ECM and Injection Pump Module - Data link circuit failure between ECM and fuel injection pump. Low power, engine derated, or engine stops.
P1693 - Companion code set because of the 1689
I'd check the plugs on the ECM and the VP44 to make sure you have tight, clean connections. I don't see any BOMBs in your sig, so I don't see any reason the dealer shouldn't honor the warranty. Unless they try to wiggle out of the warranty by saying the electronics aren't covered.

Well its electrical issues.Wire harness problems cause big headaches and big cost too.Heads up folks got any of my problems its in your wires not just connections.**** those wires are expensive too.The dealership is gonna replace mine first the shorter one hoping that wil fix the issue. They are going too absorb the cost, thats awful **** good news for me.They said the shorter one was near $600 and the main one near $1600 (all ya lookout)I really do give thanks to my dealer for coming through for me this time!

code 1693
Well checked out my PDC the last 4 days and couldn't find anything. All the resistances were good in the neighborhood of 0.001 to 0.002 ohms.
Improved the grounds at the front left corner. Runs no better maybe worse.(junk)

I think when my truck is back on the road its going up for sale! You could have problems with your PCM or ECM or any of the wires.I was informed that they will be replacing the other wire harness on my truck soon .My understanding is that electrical issues are the root of all evils on this Dodge trucks! This type of problem is very common with these vehicles.Any how i still got one hell of a engine !
