Does a #10 fall under "Pay to Play" ?

I am dumb...

Mainly because I made a quick decision NOT to mod my truck...

But I put the gauges in last week...

Now I'm wondering how a plate will affect my truck in the long run...

I'm scared to take anything apart and would rather plug something in...

Now getting into my injection pump means taking things apart, maybe breaking something in the process, adjusting things I have no clue about, putting something in wrong, having leaks....

Yeah, I'm paranoid.

I can't afford to pay to play...

I put a #10plate in my 98 it is not hard to install there are instructions on the TST site keep it clean, take your time, enjoy the results! If you are worried about breaking something you can set the plate back aliitle from centered. I set mine back about.070 from center to preserve my clutch, untill I can afford one. Also I would consider doing the 3GSK,it makes aworld of difference

A fuel plate is alot easier to put in than I thought, you can slide it back. If your not at full throttle the plate does virtually nothing. Your stock clutch may not like it if you are hard on it. Just watch your egts and you should be fine.

IMHO

any mod u do falls under pay to play, even if its a ten plate. Too many factors determine the life of your engine and components upon modification. Most of it is how hard you play, and your right foot control. Keeping those in check and keepin the mods and maintainance up as well, u should be ok for a little while...

Just open the AFC housing and slide your stock plate forward, the AFC forward, and starwheel adjusted forward quite a ways.

You'll be surprised what you'll get.

On the other side I just did what you want to do, I grinded mine to a # 10......now I need a clutch. The amount of power gained is unbelievable, unfortunately the stock clutch won't hold. If you accelerate brutally (and IT WILL, GUARANTEED !!! ) in 4th gear and 5th gear you'll slip clutch like nothing.

If you want to sell your stock plate, let m e know I am looking for one....

BTW the job is VERY easy, once you do it you realize is not much of a deal, I was worried as much as you at the begin.
