I am replacing the rear output seal in the t-case this weekend, and am going to change the fluid while I am at it. I know that the t-case takes ATF, but do I use a dexron III or some other type of ATF. I do plan on using synthetic, if I can find it locally.

 

I used Mobil 1 syn dexron type... advance auto or auto zone should have in stock.....

 

I found redline available locally, but the place says not to use it in that application. The dealership said to just use regular atf, but any dexron III or IV.

Mob 1 is good if you can't wait for the RL to come in the mail.

I made a mistake with the redline, the place that said not to use the redline only had the MTL which is for manual transmissions, which should not be used in the trasfer case. Redline's ATF should be fine in the t-case. I put in Mobil 1 syn because that was all I could find locally.
