ammco tranny rebuilt warranty info

hey guys i had my tranny rebuilt about 1.5 year ago. i spent an exra $1000 for them to put in there heavy duty stuff because i told them that i was going to do mods. well 1.5 years later a juice edge and airdog 2 and 4" exhaust i feel the tranny shudder in 4th gear low throttle with heavy load. and when in overdrive when i hit the gas i feel rpms jump up a bit when they should be locked in (slipping) also the last thing that is weird, when i am excelerating hard and let off the throttle the rpms jump up for split second. My worry with ammco is that they told me that my warranty will still cover my tranny even with programmer and stuff that i added but there paper work states warranty is void with any "alterations" any experience with this? i am worried about going in there and them going back on a verbal word they told me.

A couple of thoughts..
do you have in writing that the 'heavy duty' mods are enough to handle you mods? sorry just thinking from the other side here.

how many miles since the rebuild? they don't last forever..it would be great if they did.

Has the same shop serviced it since the rebuild? do you have records of maintenance?

not sure where you live but I have a brother-in-law that owns an Aamco shop..I could ask but I would like more details..to get a better answer.

Dkenny, i had this rebuilt a year ago i have 20,000 miles since rebuilt. i am taking it in to get a trans flush. as far as the mods. i specifficaly told the manager what i was doing with the truck. he stated that he does these for customers all the time and they hold up well and are stilll under warranty.

I know that a Goerand, ATS, or the like is the best way to go, but not everyone has that kind of money, or the truck isn't worth sinking that kind of money into. When I bought my truck, it had an Aamco rebuilt trans in it, which had already had a years worth of use on it. It now has almost 4 years use, untold miles, and is still running strong. I know the key is to keep the horsepower down on a stock trans, but otherwise, the cost for Aamco to rebuild it versus the other options has panned out.

So I made the trip last weekend. Took the 6 hour drive to west virginia 2 pick up my 12,000 pound camper in the mountains. She made it home. But now when I am in overdrive and hit the go peddle there is a grinding noise in my transmission. I also forgot to mention that I had ammco check out my transmission before I left. They pulled up and change the fluid and said everything was good to go. I guess the only way they can feel what I am talking about is under a load.
