As long as your batteries are strong, it will start. It won't sound happy when it does, though.

Beats me, I never had a diesel fail to start because it was too cold. The ones that wouldn't start wouldn't crank because the batteries were shot. I haven't dealt with temps lower than -15 or so, I'm sure some of our friends to the North can enlighten you.

It's - 3 here tonight and it is going to be -10 tomm night. as long as the batteries are strong, have no fear. It takes forever for them to warm up but they always fire over.

My only problem has been batteries. I have never had a gelling problem (never used fuel additives either). The beast will start. With my 5 year old OEM batteries, I plug in for two hours, and away we go!

It doesn't get down to below zero often, but I have never had an issue. I am looking to upgrade my batteries to the spiral stuff, have just tried to limp through the winter and save money for my clutch upgrade!

I agree with the above. Your batteries would be the weak link. If they are good, just cycle the grid heaters twice and it'll fire right up. Let it idle in neutral for a few minutes to warm the engine and circulate the trans fluid.

A buddy of mine and me went ice fishing at a remote lake (30miles by snowmachines) plugged the truck in and left, well it was -30 to -58 for the 4 days we were out there, and yes we caught alot of fish! Came back to find out someone had UNPLUGGED my buddy CTD! Well to save the life of some moron, we got it started on our own. Kept cycling the heaters till she finally popped off, about 30 minutes of trying. A CTD does not sound happy at -35*.
