5sp Manual Transmission Going going g...
Hey all,
First time poster, long time lurker... I've owned my truck for about 2 months now, and I'm just starting to get into the Dodge world. I just emerged from the Landcruiser world and I'm kinda glad to be out of it.
I have a 5sp manual transmission that I think is starting to fail. It will sometimes 'POP' out of third gear while just cruising downhill, and it has a bit of a rattle in 5th gear. Advice? Options?
OPTION A: Buy a new 5sp and replace existing. Um, that just sounds expensive!
OPTION B: Rebuild existing? Where to find books, manuals or knowledge?
OPTION C: One of you find listers want to sell me a transmission?
Thanks in advance for any input.
Sean.

Contact the following shop and he will get you fixed up. He has the parts for sale as a kit and it includes all the specailty tools you will need and a video that shows step by step repair of your tranny. We just put the tranny in front of a tv and hit pause after each step and it walked us right through it. http://www.quad4x4.com/
Wow, thanks for the link to QUAD4x4 I learned a great deal reading through their informative website. I think I'm going to change the lubricant and then just run the transmission until I lose 5th gear. The hard shifting into third, I'll just have to live with, hopefully the new lubricant will help a bit. Eventually I'll take it out and rebuild the whole edited by admin thing.
