1 ton front wheel bearing

Got the rear shocks done and moved on to the front brakes. I noticed I have some up and down play with the hub- not sloppy loose but questionable when the caliber is off. No grease leaking. Is this normal? The reason I ask is because I don't remember it having play when I did my brakes last- which was about 3 yrs ago. Did I just forget there was some play before?

I am leaving on a trip in a week and don't need any problems.

Thanks for info.

Angry

I am so mad I am shaking. Drivers side bearing is shot because the passenager side is tight. I barely remember doing the pass side but what I do remember that is was one tough bugger. I will bet our dealership won't have one in stock either. It is a dealer only part?

If its not growling make sure the axle nut is torqued properly. If it is loose the bearings will seperate slightly and become loose.

Well I got it off, it wasn't too tuff but I did work up a sweat. It's shot. I will try quad. I really need one tomorrow, I have a weekend of corral cleaning to do. I guess I could persuade the boss to let me take a college vehicle home .
