Wink Going-- Going-- Gone in 06

Bid adieu to the two door Stratus & Sebring coupes. Being produced in Normal Il by Mitsubishi, they will be last offered as an 06 model year. Even if we add that small door like Saturn did, people are not willing to hassle with getting into the back seat, says Chrysler spoksman. The two door Sebring Convertible is not effected, as it is still a hot seller. That convertible is built at it's Sterling Heights, Mich plant. But that might change, as production may switch to Mexico, going along with the PT Cruiser. Also Chrysler will build a crossover type replacement for the Neon in 2006, at it's Belvidere plant in northern Il.

Don't care too much if they are going to stop making some cars... I do care that they would close a plant in Michigan, boot X number of people out of jobs, send all the work to Mexico & still have ridiculously high prices for vehicles. After all the jobs are outsourced in this country, there won't be anyone w/ any money to buy anything!

The Sebring and Stratus were made by Mitsubishi? Didn't know that. Chrysler commies...

As I've siad here before, though, they're probably just clearing their 2-door sporty-car demographic for the new muscle-car they're coming out with. Challenger, Road Runner or [insert other Mopar muscle-car here], anybody?

It's gonna be really cool when the new cars have Diesel's, too.

The stratus is a great car. M wife owned one until we got the Liberty. That thing would fly, and the slap shift was fun to. Did I mention it was a great car.

Now, now. No sympathy allowed for the autoworkers. They will just have to figure out what niche market they are capable of working in. Capitalism is king and wherever you can manufacture your product the cheapest is the best thing. Right, Begle1? And easy on the commies thing. You probably don't wanna look too closely at your HD motorcycle. Component origin might be upsetting.
