What kind of after market lift pump is everyone running and is it solving the problem or are they dying too? What lift pump is everyone recomending to install on these trucks? Has any one messed with the BD-Power Dodge Lift Pump Kit (Auxiliary)?

Do a search, you will find a lot of information on this subject. Some go BD or carter pusher set-up, some go FASS. Really depends on what your end goal is. If you are just fixing a problem, most folks do a pusher set-up or stock replacement; if you are going all out for big hp a lot of people go with the FASS setup. I went with the Walbro from Glacier Diesel and have been very pleased.
Walbro
The Walbro is an inline pump designed to be mounted between the fuel tank and the stock fuel canister filter. It generates more pressure (90PSI) than is required so a "T" fitting is used with a simple poppet type valve to blead excess pressure back to the tank. The valve (aka bypass or check valve) is shimmed to the pressure you want. I have mine set to 16PSI and it is rock steady. The Glaicer kit also includes low restrictive 3/8in fittings and hose. You will need to cut you old fuel line to install the new pump, typically on the frame so it is below the tank and is self primed. The kit comes with everything you need including a relay that connects to your original LP connector . I added a pre-pump screen filter and ball valve to cut off the fuel when changing the filter. I also replaced all the stock banjo fittings with the low restrictive fittings on the stock canister filter and the VP44. Richard at Galicer is an extreamly nice guy to deal with. Here are the instructions.
take a look at the walbro kit that they sell at http://wideopendiesel.com/page8.html it's the best price that I could find around. the kit went great except one little hickup the spring and ball was missing out of the regulator that they sent me, I called them and they have a new regulator In the mail nexted day air with the parts.
I have had really good luck with this LP. It won't go below 10 psi even pulling my 30' trailer. So far appx 45,000 miles on it.

I put a BD on my 2000 last week. It has pros and cons, what I did not like is the kit did not come with a wiring harnesss to plug into the stock pump harness so you have to stand on your ear in the engine bay and tap into the stock harness or and ingnition wire. The good thing about the Holley pump is any Auto Zone as the pump on the shelf if you needed a replacement later in life or replacement parts. I got mine from etrdieselperformance.com they were very helpful.
