lift pumps ???

hey guys im still in the market 4 my first CTD. what is the the cost of the lift pump i hear so much about ?? is it an easy install ?? also should i avoid a 98.5 and newer because of the problem ?? i really dont want to have to put a lift pump on every 50,000 miles or so. ive been very lucky with my gas engine trucks so far without any real expense other than normal wear and tear ( brakes, tires, etc ). im looking 4 something with 60 to around 100k miles on it quad, short bed,a/c,cd,red,white,or blue still undecided about manual or auto....thanks,guys,scott

Re:lift pumps ???

You can purchase a lift pump from Cummins for $139.00. The dealer is about double that. Its an easy install.

There are also lots of aftermarket setups you could go to if you wanted...Mallory4140 and PE4200 are a few that come to mind...there are lots out there.

I believe each of the trucks have their own types of problems...buy one and have fun learning about it. You will get all of the help you need right here!
