will lift look dumb on 2wd?

i am looking to level the truck out with springs and then add another 2" front and back. i don't want to put a block in the spring but if i can find a ring to go under the spring i would like to do that. i will be adding a powr-lok and proabably a hitch mountable winch i would like to make up for the fact that i am only 2wd. any input is appreciated... thanks!

After you raise the front of an independant suspension vehicle past a certain point the top of the tire will lean in and can not be adjusted out far enough to straighten it out therefore you need a longer upper control arm.

My previous truck ('85 gasser D250) had been equipped with some springs off a locomotive (probably the 7226 springs) by a PO. It sat with the control arms not quite touching the upper bumpstops, about 4" of lift. It could not be aligned properly due to excess negative camber. And it rode like crap because there was almost no down travel in the front suspension. That and the 9 leaf packs in the back made it a "beater" in more ways than one.

Here!!

Not the same body style, but it's what you wanted right??

[IMG][/IMG]

I've got 1.75" up front and the same in the back...sits level except when I have the trailer on, then it's just high enough in the front if you stand back about 100ft you can tell.

The thing with a lift on a 2wd is you can't go a whole lot taller than what I've got, or bad things happen like has already been mentioned. Another thing is finding shocks that will fit!

HTH,
Chris
