Going to look @ a '01 2wd w/120k miles...

I've been looking and test driving for one of these trucks for a few months now. On Saturday I'm looking at an '01 2wd, QC, AT with 120k miles on it. Build date April '01.

This is the first one I'm looking at with this high mileage. Should I have any reserves about the truck going into Saturday?

What kind of mileage should these trucks/engines be capable of when they are well maintained? 120k really insn't very high for these correct?

120k? haha... That's practically brand new... Just watch out for fuel lift pump. It's the pump in the gas tank which goes bad and then destroys your injection pump (which costs $1700). The lift pump will go bad eventually. But there are ways to monitor it so you can avoid destroying the injection pump. This only applies to 98.5+ rams w/ 24 vavle engine.

Is there an easily accessable fuel port to hook a mechanical guage up to on the rail? I've got a guage with 3' hose that I can take with me, as the truck is about 2.5 hours away.

What should the f.p. read?? Idle & w.o.t.?? The truck has some sort of "chip" in it currently.

On the side of the injector pump is a schraeder valve for testing. Normal should be around 12psi at idle, no lower than 5psi at WOT.

Okay, I'm pretty darn sure that there is no pump in the tank. Just the lift pump on the driver side of the engine. The reason these go bad is because they have to pull instead of push. The new replacement that the dealer is providing will go in the tank but the original is on the block.
