going to look at 2000 2500 what to look for?

im thinking about going to look at this truck. i have read alot on 3rd gen but dont know much about these! can this have a #53 block? where are the weak spots on there trucks? thanks for any help? what about the price, sound about right?

i think it would be ok i baught my truck with 85k miles for 17500..... i think the best thing to do is drive the truck and check for play in the steering and when u drive the truck check the clutch. ( driv normal and when you are in 3rd gear shift it to fith gear (skip fourth) and see if it slips if not good indacation that is ok) but the truck looks good!

Check for codes with the key trick. The injector pump and lift pump are the weak spots on these trucks. IMO, I would buy it with the intensions of buying a 2k fuel sysem for it in the next 2 years (if not sooner). That's just been my experience with these trucks, and I work on several of them. Put an axilary lift pump on it the day you get it and a fuel pressure guage.

thanks for the help. is it possible for this truck to have a 53 block? what years did they show up in? i have really wanted a truck like this since i was little. i thinking about getting rid of my 04 for it, i wonder if ill regret it later? the 6-speed is killing my bummed ankle and an auto would be nice

yes it could have a 53 those started in 98 12v's and i think ended some where in '01
