will it just slip?

well since my hope of getting a 5-speed slipped away i need to address my current tranny 518. do you think that if i upgrade the converter i will just make the tranny slip? i have 180k tranny shifts good. just horrible under heavy acceleration

If I understand, you have poor acceleration????? Has power detoriated?? May just need some plugs changed out

A converter and 50$ transgo shift kit will solve your problems, you would believe what a shift kit can do.

Nope, I thought my trans was slipping, but it was just the converter. About 70% hook, 30% slip. A new one should drop that slip number down to about 10%. I like the Goerend converter I have

thanks for the advice i think i will give a new converter a shot as well as a shift kit

Plugs = injectors, gotta think out of box. Sort of like understanding the orginal post. Obviouslly I missed something. With 180k would stronglly suggest doing the entire tranny O'haul. Band is probablly severlly worn at this time and clutches have been abused also. JMHO

thats kind of what i was thinking a tight converter might just make the ol tranny slipp
