transmission slip? TC slip? or what.

Been looking around for a long time but first real post. I was visiting the smokey mountains last week on my Honeymoon and during that time i climbed a lot of mountains, on the climb up my (I'm guessing) transmission would slip quite a few times. I have an Edge Juice w/attitude and displaying the transmission slip it stated that it was not slipping. Could it be torque converter? What other info do you need to help me diagnose this problem. i did make it back to texas after a wonderful time, good thing we had our motorcycles with us so the truck could rest.
