Wheel Interchange
Lost my spare in a wood hauling misadventure.
There are always 1 ton Dodge vans in the boneyard that have 8 lugs and Dana 60's. Are they the same as a 1st gen?

Would depend on the year of Van, if it's pre 94 I would think it would be the same. For a spare a 2nd gen rim would work fine....off set is different by 1/4" or so, but other then that they work well.

What Thrashingcows said; plus, anything 8-lug Ford prior to about 1994 or so, whenever Ford switched over to that stupid Communist bolt-pattern that doesn't fit anything else.
In fact, the early Ford wheels are by far better than anything Chrysler ever used; they are thick and built like an Army tank.
Also, just about any 8-lug trailer wheel will fit; an 8-lug farm wagon wheel is different though.
The pattern for these trucks is 8 on 6-1/2"

Steel or aluminum 2nd gen wheel? I bought a set of 2nd gen (‘96 2500) aluminum wheels off craigslist and they hit the tie rod ends on my ‘93. I heard the steel wheels will clear though.

The factory aluminum rims from '98-'02 are at least a 1/2 inch wider and might cause contact issues in the front end.
I have run the factory '94-'97 chrome steel 2500 8 lug rims on several 1st gens with no issues.

The Ford Super Duty pickups (beginning 1998?) were switched to a metric lug pattern but the Ford Econoline vans continued to come with 8 on 6-1/2 wheels. Perhaps you can find a Ford van with 8-lug wheels in the boneyard?
