wheel bearings

i have been looking online for wheel bearing prices but all the part stores list a 4000# front axle. don't we have a 4500# axle. does it even matter
one other thing do you think i will need to replace the races or just bearings?

No use replacing the bearings if you dont do the races. Take the old bearings and races with you to get your new one's or wite the numbers down off them.

Does the 2WD have the 4000# front axle? That's all I'm finding a listing for, too..

Yes, it's the 4000 lb front axle. And you can do the bearings at home with some pretty common tools.

no it is the style that has four prongs. read though my post here, the right socket is listed in there via the link by powerammaster. unless if you have better parts stores around you it will be hard to find. I ended up borrowing one. then ordered though a buddy's tool supplier at his shop so now i have it.

I'm sorry, thought you were talking about a 2WD. My mistake.
