What gauges are needed for pump upgrade

I am going to be ordering some gauges this week so that hopefully i can start tuning my pump next week and bump my timing. My main question is a boost gauge needed on a stock motor that i only plan on tuning the pump. I know that i will need an Pyrometer. Im planning to purchase a quality gauge like an autometer for egt but money is tight so if i dont need a boost gauge to tune the pump then i will be able to start messing with my pump once i get it installed if not i will have to wait anouther week so i can buy more gauges. Later this summer i will be putting in a full gauge set. Truck is a 93 w350 and Thanks

For tuning the best is EGT and a Tach....the Boost is nice,, but not totally necessary.

I would recommend the Isspro gauges, that is what I have...Boost, EGT and Tach....never had a glitch in mine. I have heard a few issues with Autometer...but that has to mainly do with poor grounds.

Is the tach to make sure that im not to close to runaway after tuning? Also i read somewhere that on a 93 with tilt which mine is that there is a plug for a tach under the cover, does that mean there is already a sender and all i need is a gauge?

There is a plug for the tach. It is to the left of the column. It is a small flat 4 wire plug.

I would recommend a boost gage also. It will show your fueling problems faster than a EGT gage will.

Boost and Pyro is all I feel I need on my manual shifted trucks.
If I ran an auto I would add a trans. temp gauge as well.
