What to do next?

Gauges... check! Now what? Would like some additional power for draggin' the Jeep, BUT do NOT want to screw with reliability or longevity...

Air cleaner mods?
Down pipe swap?
Pump tweaks? If so, where to start? 3200 spring?

How are your temps while towing with your current setup? (EGT and tranny) What kind of weight do you typically tow? What are your current tranny mods?

Haven't pulled with it, so all I have are empty baselines

My trailer wighs about 2200#, the Jeep is about 4200#, and figure gear is anwhere between 250#-500# depending on duration of trip... decent guess would be approx. 7000#

None, that I know off! Hoping to hear back from a highly recommended builder (competent & knowledgeable) from this site on getting it serviced by a trained set of eyes (despite my mechanical apptitude, I'm an automagic dummy). It does have all 3 tranny coolers = "Super Duty" options and seems to be in good working order (but feels like it could use some adjustment).

Dave here is what I did..

1st I put in Pyro and drove jeep for a week to get base line on temps..
2nd I loaded jeep on trailer and towed it on a saturday to get temps base line again..
3rd I made the BHAF mount and installed it..
4th I turned up power screw one turn.
5th I loaded camper, jeep, trailer and drove to PA.. had a blast and never looked back ..

my temps never went over 1150 degrees doing 70mphs on big hills...

not sure what else you have done... but that is what i did and had no issues..

oh and I have straight pipe exhaust..

OK... here's the initial plan:

- Tenatively scheduled for a tranny service/tweaking/inspection from a VERY knowledgeable board member Sat. week

- 366 spring is underway, which I'll attempt to install (said he's never done a VE) with visual guides from the sticky. He thought it prudent to set the tranny up WITH the spring installed... depending on how long it takes me, I may "twist" a few things in the process

Depending on the numbers heading home empty, might have to work on more air... my exhaust is stock to just aft of the cab where it 90s up/over the frame and into the 5" stack. Once home, *hopefully* the Moss will be close enough to rolling to load on the trailer for a few test runs up to Mayberry & back... several decent grades on that loop should give me some numbers to work with...

The 366 is much easier than it looks. Be observant as you work and watch the top hat!

For your automagic mods, look into getting a suncoast valve body, and torque convertor. Expencive I know, but for the cost of Tranny rebuilds........ you cant afford not to either.
I think both will run u 1200 bucks total or very close to it. Their like 600 a piece. Look into switching to a synthetic fluid like Amsoil, and external filter setup. That outta keep your tranny covered for a good long time.

12 Benjamins aren't in the budget for tranny mods (*this* year ), so I'm hoping for the best when Phil drops the pan!... Pooched = button it back up, pour the old fluid in it and peddle it home... No Metal = bring on the power!
