Too funny.....the old "hit the 4wd shifter" issue.

I had the same thing the first time I fired up the crewcab after the 4wd conversion.....motor ran and the tranny would go into gear, but no movement. I to thought I had missed or done something wrong during the rebuild. Felt pretty dumb when I finally figured it out.

To continue with my day I had a few things to do this morning and I went to the post office and on my way there I realized my brake pedal started to feel kind of mushy. Turns out that when I adjusted them last week before I stopped driving the truck the wheel cylinders in this wonderfully designed piece of machinery somehow leaked air into the rear brakes?

I guess Mark knows a lot about this as this is why he switch to rear disc. ???

Couple of minutes underneath the truck to bleed the driver side wheel cylinder and it's back to beautiful brakes. Luckily it wasn't the passenger side cuz the bleeder is Frozen. I guess I know what I'll be doing the end of the summer.. Again!

I know a guy that just swapped a 727 torqueflite in his 1977 W200. Got it all back together finally and started it up and same thing. No power to the ground. HUGE disappointment thinking about doing it all over again after finding another tranny or having the old one rebuilt. Then he remembered to check and see where the NP203 shifter was...
But I would never do something that boneheaded...

Been plowing the driveway and yard a bunch over teh last couple weeks...we have gotten a couple feet of snow since then and another 6-10" expected tonight. Taken a bunch of pics but Imgur is no longer allowing my old Blackberry 10 operating system to upload pics.

Dropped down to -32*C last night as well....Fired Patches up and the grids came on even though the truck was plugged in all night. NV4500 feels sluggish and thick at those temps. Fired it up about an hour before I was going to leave the house to allow things to warm up.

Well, I love the disks, but bleeding the alongside the road, in the cold, IN JERSEY , Would not be as easy, because you have to hold the valve straight up to get all of the air out. Sorry about the Jersey comment, it really has no effect on the job, I think ...Mark

That'll come back to haunt you. Probably when you're passed out drunk.

No prob senior.

I have a Mityvac bleeder, and if used correctly, doesn't take very long to do, especially in my driveway.

Brakes work awesome, now. The rear wheel cylinders will leak again, so this dogfight isn't over.

Those rear cylinders seem to be a weak point. I've replaced mine twice. Maybe I got chicom parts.

Nope. I'm already paying for it now, and I haven't had a drink since Saturday.

I'm sure I'm on my 3rd set. They only last 2 to 4 years. They leak, air and the bleeder rust from the inside out, clogging the passage. I don't believe anything other than Chinese replacements are available anymore.

It's bad when you have to replace the cylinders more often than the shoes!
