What did you do to your Gen 1 today?
I didn't even know that kicks meant shoes until this song came out about threatening a school shooting (no kidding) and I didn't know what "pumped up kicks" meant...Mark

So, last night was my first opportunity to use my new spotlight.
Some goober was behind me while I was traveling from one of my plowing customers, and he / she / it has their high beams on, irritating me, riding my bumper. Activated my "anti-goober" reflection device, and they backed off 300 feet or so, Turnng their high beams off. I turned the device off. They got closer again, turning their high beams on again, and again I blasted them with my reflection device. They backed off again, I again turned the device off, and they stayed back, and didn't again use the I high beams behind me...
Success!!! Woo hoo!

Got it home
Today I drove my truck home from my grandparents as it seemed that the gunk had pretty well cleaned out and it was not dying on my anymore. Ran awesome for most of the way, about 1 1/2 hours, but then it started surging some and power went down
. Figured the fuel filter was probably getting clogged so I limped it to somewhere where I could pull off and swap out filters. Changed the filter and filled the new one with Stanadyne Performance Additive. Started the truck and it still had a rough idle and was kind of cutting out some. Decided to just “SEND IT” and drove the rest of the way home. Power was down noticeably and when I got home the idle was still rough. Stopped in the driveway and left it in drive for a minute. The engine was lugging, but it didn’t die. Decided to check transmission fluid level just for kicks and giggles and when I got done the idle was still rough and stumbling. Old filter had some residue from the what has been recirculating from what was in the injector pump. Not a lot, but probably enough to clog the 4 micron fuel filters I run. Wondering if the lift pump got wiped out again from the little bit of stuff that is still running through. I have a warranty on the lift pump so I’ll have to check it tomorrow and take it back Monday if it is. I still have the receipt and the box it came in so shouldn’t be a problem there. I’d like to get some sort of fuel filter before the lift pump, but I worry that that would reduce fuel flow too much. It would be nice to have one to catch the big stuff that will wipe out a lift pump though.

Never noticed any reduction in fuel flow, my fuel pressure seems fine.
Thats good to hear. Checked the lift pump and at first it wasn’t pumping so I rotated the engine just a little bit and then tried again. Sprayed fuel out the loosened banjo bolt on the inlet side of the filter housing. I then tightened that one and loosened the 10mm banjo bolt on the outlet side of the filter housing and it sprayed a little fuel out and then it seemed like the pumps were less effective. Almost like the pressure had built up to its maximum and it only sprayed out here and there. This is with a brand new filter. Only has 17 miles on it.
