TCows, with the spacer/shim material you put in to push your fan forward to miss that gargantuan Fluid Damper, how many threads on that clutch hub did you ever come up catching on the spindle?

A friend of mine worked installing A/C ductwork. He had a full set of those. Unfortunately you have to have a pair of Popeye arms to cut 1/4" steel. 16 Gauge is about all I can manage with snips.

The wife is already thinking up stuff for me to build.

Unfortunately we had to call the fire dept. when the cake collapsed under the weight of 76 candles!

Or a Makita 4" angle grinder,

Also use mine to cut brass tubing under sinks.

I got one but it's a Harbor Fright brand. It's decent but not heavy duty. Got a diamond blade in my circular saw for the stonework though. I wonder if a plasma cutter will cut tile. Supposed to work on stainless and aluminum also. Waiting on an adapter because my garage isn't wired for 220 yet. Jim: Do you do that kind of work?

Out in the commercial field, used to crack us up, the other trades folks that bought the 3 pack of snips. The Reds, greens, and the worthless yellows. Out of that 3 pack they grab the yellows of all things, and try to cut circular type cuts with it, and each passing cut had multiple fish hooks. That there person, was known to not know how to use snips, and was bookmarked to all of us that he doesn't get to borrow one of ours, LOL. In fact, anyone that uses the yellows, were known to really lack in snip useage.
We've punched a few knuckleheads in our day, who reached into our tool bags to borrow our snips to cut #12 suspended ceiling wire. My journeyman took a set of his 18" long Bulldogs and slapped a dude in the face with it for doing that.

Yesterday hooked up to the trailer and went and picked up some nice used overhead doors for the new shop. Got a 16'w x 12'h for the front of the shop, and a 11'w x 12'h for the rear. Finding these will save me over $6K, compared to two new 12x12 that I had a quote on.

The noise is definitely less noticeable then before after removing the MH timing spacer, the noise is now more in the back ground compared to being almost the only noise I was hearing before. I am finding also the truck spools faster now, before it would take almost 3/4 throttle to get it to spool up past 10lbs, but now it seems to be spooling over 10lbs and climbing at less then 1/2 pedal.

I may pull the IP and open it up to just confirm that I don't have any internal IP issues, and that those big springs are still in one piece each. I found a local company that has DGK-121 kits in stock...so that is a bonus as well.

Hauled my brother's 21' Searay down to the lake and back for him this past week.

Almost 3 tons of boat, 400+ miles and got 11.49mpg. Lots of hills and curving, winding road so OD was off part of the time. Windows down so no AC.

Truck didn't skip a beat.

Oh, and my brother let my daughter and I stay at his cabin in between and tube and float on the lake with his family. First vacation for me in about 5 years. Good times.

My HyperTherm is hands down the best investment I have made for metal work. I'd love to have a brake and a shear, but I'm out of space....for now.

What am I doing to my 1st gen today? NOTHING!!! I am currently admiring my CTD RamCharger and the '74 Crew I built from the shop door today. I'm glad they are both outside the shop and can be used at a moments notice with no fear of imminent breakdowns. I am happy I own, maintain, repair, and drive the snot out of 1st gens....because in the shop is a 2001 24V with a low engine knock that I am currently pulling out of the truck. I have decided I am more of a fan of my old rattling and reliable 1st gen and older Dodge trucks every time I put a wrench on a 2nd gen or newer.

Cheers to my old junk! Now where did I put my beer......

Awesome. Glad to hear. Possible overtiming issue. Easily corrected, as well

Nice score on the doors. So easy, nowadays to put nylon rollers on any overhead door, some new springs, and have a nearly new function on them
