W250 or W350

Hi,

I currently have a D250 but I am looking to buy a W250. I don't think I need the extra capacity of a W350 (or extra cost in dual tires when they need replacement), but... Should I consider a 1 ton if I find one. I guess what I am really asking is, which is in more demand? Will the 1 ton bring a higher price at resale time or should I just focus on a 3/4 ton?

Regards,

I would focus on whatever is available.. There isn't much difference between the 250 and 350 SRW.. But if you get into a 350 DRW then it will be better for towing heavy payloads... But I really don't think they made a whole bunch of the 350 SRW's.. 4x4's tend to bring in the same value wether it be a DRW or SRW.. Some people would fell a Dually was worked harder than a SRW.. So..It is a crapshoot... Whatever you can get your hands on that is in good shape and you like it.. I'd say go for it...

Sure, there's no reason not to buy a dually other than the extra tire cost.

I didn't need a dually, I bought mine because it was a Cummins powered Dodge with a 5 speed and a solid body.

I have 2 W350 duallys,1 D350 and 1 D350 donor parts truck. Don't know why I ended up with all duallies but I like them. My next one will be a W250 or a W350 srw just for something different. Like DNRCustoms said it's kinda what's available, or if you want something different the W350 srw seems to be the odd man out. Good Luck and hope you find what ya want.

I like my W350 SRW. As far as I know the only diff in the 250 and 350 is the rear springs. Just buy what ever you find in good shape and a good price.

350 SRW trucks have bigger rear brakes but thats really easy to convert on a 250. basicly buy the brake pads/cylinders and install them like normal
