vaccum line to brake booster

So today I crank my truck and get ready to leave. I release the park brake and start to back up when I notice the brake light is still on so I recheck the park brake and it was good. So as I apply the brakes I realize the pedal is very stiff. I check the system to realize the plastic piece that ties the vaccum lines into the booster blew off the booster. My question is can this one piece be replaced or does the whole thing have to be replaced?

Unless I'm mistaken, that's a check-valve. Pretty common on vacuum assisted brake boosters. They should be readily available at your local parts supply house.

No need in replacing the entire booster unless it blows off again. Then I'd think something more is up.

Cant plug it back in. It broke. Part of it is still in the booster.

Does this sounds like it would be the cause of the hard brakes?

If you cannot find the check valve in the HELP section of your local auto parts I know that NAPA has them.
You might also want to get a new grommet.
