quick vaccum booster ?

Im probably about 30 minutes from tearing into my truck to replace the vac booster and master. i was curious to know how to adjust the rod that connects to the brake pedal?

on a side note this should be a fun project

You install everything and bleed everything as best you can, then you take the cap off the MC and have someone watch the fluid. Depress the brake and you should see the fluid fountain up within 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch of movement. I know that it is probably too late, but the best option is a mated mc/booster, which is preadjusted at the factory...Mark PS it is a very simple job doing the R&R, but the bleeding...not so much...

I took a caliper and made sure the new one measured the same as the old one.....

Not too bad of a job.....

I got the pushrod to the master a little short, I would spend the few extra bucks to get them together. The pushrod to the pedal doesn't adjust, the pedal stop/brakelight switch adjusts to the pedal.

I was surprised how easy the job was. Think I needed a whole three wrenches.

it wasnt to bad. i got the booster master mated as a whole assembly. it took about 4 hours in the blazing heat taking water brakes and bleeding EVERYTHING many many many many times. stops like a ferrari now. put my foot on the pedal and instant response

Amazing the difference, aint it? It didn' take me that long, I did have to pull the master to bench bleed it, funny how it wouldn't in the truck. I probably should flush the system but the way it stops I'm not worrying about it.

Oh yeah, I've been taking my box fan to the barn to work on anything the last few weeks. A little breeze does wonders.
