vaccum line question

vaccum line question

i found a vaccum line on my truck the other day that led to no where. it was on the drivers side of the motor and back by the map sensor. it was green i think with a one way valve on the end with a rubber elbow on it. does anyone know what this is. and it is ok haveing the rubber elbow on connected to anything. help me please

It sounds like the vent for the front differential but usually it terminates on the passenger side behind the airbox.

No the vent for that is just a rubber hose with a cap on it. This is a plastic line that is just like the line comming off the pump

ok. i think i found what the line goes to. i think its the 4x4 vaccum line. where does it plug in at.

i think its the vac vent line for the 4x4. the check valve is on it so it stays shut untill vented.

Well my 4x4 doesn't work so I say it's the supply line

The green one is the vent line. Red and black go to the CAD on the front axle. White is the supply line from the vacuum pump. The left line facing forward on the CAD sucks 4WD on, the right line sucks 4WD off. In a politically correct, non-gender biased sort of way, of course....

If you're having any type of trouble with the CAD operation, I would recommend the Posi-Lok cable kit.

I have one on my truck due to faulty vacuum lines that I didn't have the patients to trace out or risk of other problems later.

Pull the cable out, 4X4 on. Push cable in, 4X4 off. It's that simple.
