Door has water in it? Drain holes?
Rust on the bottom of the doors seems to be a common thing on these trucks. We had a little rain last night, and this morning when I went to get something out of my truck, I shut the door and a little water poured out from right underneath the door and above the door sill. It was below the "Ram 2500" emblem. Hmm... So I opened the door and didn't see any water on the door sill or kick panel area. I shut the door again and again a little water poured out. I'm assuming it's coming from inside the door, but I could be wrong. I don't know where else it would be coming out from though. Could that be the reason these doors rust so easy? Anyone else notice this? What if we drilled several drain holes to let the water out?
I have the same problem in my passenger door. I ended up pulling a rubber plug out of the door down low and the water came a running. I left the plug out in hopes that it will help in the long run. The factory drain holes must have clogged up.

Factory Drain holes usually plug fairly easily. The bottoms of both my driver side and passenger side doors are literally gone. You better look into it as soon as you can, or you'll be spending lots of time and possibly money to get them fixed. IMO
Common problem, indeed. You definitely want to look into your doors and their drainage issues. Read on, from one of my other posts today:
I just had the bottom of the doors fixed from the rusting out. Get this: apparently, Dodge uses some sort of sound-dampening foam inside the doors to cut down on road noise, The problem is, the foam absorbs any moisture that gets in there (rain, car washing, etc) and rusts the doors from the inside out. So my body shop guy cut out all the rusted parts, burned out all the foam, put drain holes in the bottom of the doors, and welded in new metal and painted her up. She looks better than new now.
So, you might want to do whatever you have to to get in there and get that foam out, or you'll be rusting from the inside.

I would drill holes all along the bottom of the doors, coat the rust with Zero rust, then seal the seam with brushable seam sealer. I just finished sandblasting my lower doors & I am gonna do the same. Then I'm coating the inside with spray on bedliner & getting the outside & jamb sprayed with Line-x. I'm tired of rust.
