Also there is a note at the bottom of the page that say's I might have to MACHINE something?? What is it that need's to be done?...Has anyone here made this upgrade to their HX-35...........was this 275.00 well spent?

If you have a PDR-35, then going to a Stage III is just a lateral move. They are approximately equal.

STAGE III 400 hp UPGRADE COMPRESSOR HOUSING AND 60mm High Flow WHEEL - 95-02 DODGE/CUMMINS
$275.00 (housing and wheel only)
This upgrade converts your stock HX35W turbo to our most popular HX35/HX40 hybrid turbo.
From htturbos site, it is same as the hybrid, which is Piers. Looks like that is the highest upgrade they make for it. May be time to go to a hx40 or other brand, depending on your current mods.

The only upgrade you can do is a bigger turbo like an HTB2.

Would the more efficient blades of the stage IV be a benefit over the PDR compressor?

Yep, it does, and the HTT Stage III HX35 is a 60mm, 6 blade wheel. However, the difference between the two will be almost negligible. It really isn't worth the money to upgrade the PDR hybrid; the money would be better spent on a bigger turbo.
