oh yah a couple more questions, would a twin turbo kit for a 94-98 truck work on my 1990, since i know they don't make them for our 1st gens. also i was wondering if making my own exhaust manifold out of steel instead of cast iron would be a bad thing. i always notice the the exhaust manifolds are cast, even the ats manifolds are cast and nobody makes a steel one, why?

As Cody stated.. not sure the later model kits will fit because of the location of the frame and the AC/heat box??? (compared to the later trucks..) The turbos would work.. just might have to redo some of the piping..

If money becomes an issue.. spend your money on the inside stuff.. O-rings, cam, studs.. Then work your way into the twins and bigger injectors...

Some of them will take a lot of pressure, some of them won't. It's kind of a crap shoot. If the budget does not allow an itercooler (used PowerStroke intercoolers go for under $200), then water/meth is the next best thing.

If both turbos are wastegated, you can set the boost to be wherever you want it. 60 psi is not an unreasonable figure.

A kit for a 2nd gen will take some modifications to fit, mostly in the plumbing.

The manifolds are cast because they have to support the turbo.

not trying to sound dumb or anything but does that mean a steal exhaust manifold can't support the turbo?

A steel manifold would work but some bracing of the turbos would be required. W/o the bracing the manifold would most likely crack under the weight of one turbo, let alone 2. Cracking is always and issue with a forced induction/turbo motor. The expansion and contraction wreaks havoc on the metal. Cast iron is the way to go.
