Mine is about 3 turns or more,, mabey even 4, Make sure you have a piece of 2x4 ready, and the hose off the inake of the turbo when you start her up after turning the fuel screw!!! In case of run away, this is the only way to shut her down.

Often as not, when you turn the key off on a runaway the plunger tip will get shredded and the engine will continue to run.

The shutdown lever is also ineffective because the governor lever is already in the "defuel" position. A piece of wood or metal plate over the turbo intake is the best way to stop the engine. Do not try to use your hand or a rag.

Mines bottomed out also. Just use the shutdown lever on the side of the pump has worked for me. Normally the idle goes up a bit, then just readjust it.

My idle went up but I couldn't get the idle adjust to work until I ground on the throttle bell crank stop to get more travel. I could adjust the throttle link but could not get full throttle if I got the right idle and visa versa. Then I had to space out the accelerator pedal from the fire wall to get full travel, and that is with new bushings. Once you start down "The Path" it tends to snowball.
