Turbo or fuel pin?

OK...so I have a few extra dollars that I scrounged up and would like to get the best bang for the buck so to speak. Would I see better gains through getting a 14cm/Wg turbo housing or spending the money on an Old Smokey fuel pin? Or is there another way that I should go? Gauges are on order and I am waiting to put in my 3200 spring. Pump will be tweaked when gauges are in. If I tow it is light and minimal. I am looking to get around 250-275HP.

The power pin will make more power. The 14 cm wg housings cost too much for the benefit they give. If spoolup is really important to you, get a 16 cm housing but don't expect miracles. Once you have more fuel it will be time to upgrade the compressor.

If you're running stock injectors a great bang for the buck is a 12cm housing. Can be had much cheaper than a 14cmWG too.

When people talk about upgrading the compressor, they are talking about upgrading the cold side turbine wheel. Usually an upgraded one is larger. HTT makes upgrades for our turbos.

check out the "diesel performance" section. lots of good info there. i would agree dave that the 14cm housing isn't worth the price. WGed housings can be found for much less on ebay. you could spend less money on one of HTT's stage III or IV upgrades and have a lot more fun.

as far as the pin goes, i ground my own. i bought one from one of the popular vendors on here, and ended up grinding about 150% more material off. an expensive mistake, as far i was concerned.
