TSM Mfg rear D70 disc conversion kit

Anyone running a rear disc brake conversion on their D70, from TSM Mfg? Looks like they have a kit for $355, as seen here: http://www.tsmmfg.com/2680L2.htm Just wondering if anyone here did this swap with the TSM kit?

I looked at a simple conversion kit that consisted of a pair of caliper brackets that replaced the drum-brake backing plate.

Seventies/eighties GM K-20 front brake rotors were a direct swap for the Dana brake drum.

K-20 calipers and pads completed the deal.

I never did find out if this system could work with DRW.

DRW = Dual Rear Wheel...

or, more common...a dually...(or dualie, depending on who's spelling it...)

and why exactly don't these kits work with duals? is it because of where the wheel mounts? or the size of the rim? just wondering because i've got 19.5's now and would really like some discs.

With 19.5's there's no reason you couldn't run discs. There's just no room in our 16" duals to fit the caliper.

that sounds good. it's just that when i was thinking about it and checking out somebody's job of it, it seemed like the wheels were mounted closer in. i could definitely be wrong about that though. and i hope i am. how far into have you looked, dave?

Not very, I'm quite happy with my 3" brakes.

wow. that's a sweet page. thanks for taking the time to put that together. i'm sure there will be a few of us that benefit from that greatly. you mentioned that maybe the studs are different for a dual, what size were the ones you used? thanks again.
