Truck width?

I just bought a 90 4x4 and was wanting to tow it home with a tow dolly. How wide is the front end on these trucks? The wide dollies seem to be 80 inches on the plates and 83 to the fenders. Will it fit?

I plan to unhook the rear drive shaft. Any other issues I should worry about?

It will fit on the wide dolly unless the tires stick out past the fenders.

Make sure the tires on the dolly can handle at least 4k.

The dolly I was looking at has a 3500 lbs axle and the tires are rated 2150 lbs.
Will it be heavy enough?

What does a stock diesel 90 4x4 regular cab weigh?

What about towing it backwards on the dolly?
Seems most trucks are towed that way by tow trucks. As long as the steering locks up there shouldn't be any issues.

The truck needs to have the front tires on the dolly and the steering wheel unlocked, otherwise it will push the tow vehicle all over the road.

Tow trucks tow the vehicle with only 2 wheels on the ground.

Steering wheel locks can break loose fairly easily. Drop the rear driveshaft and tow it with the front wheels off the ground.
