Truck Addiction

I just helped a buddy install his 366 spring on his 93 W250 yesterday. After we were done, we went out and ran 'em side by side. I took him 2 out of 3. Only reason he had me once was because I couldn't get my tires to hook up! I was pretty impressed that my 307 rearend beat his 410 off the line. He does have a manual trans though. I love this truck and all the tinkering! Just thought I'd share with you guys.

Non-intercooled automatic trucks are lots of fun. I'd sure hate to line up against a well tuned one with my truck. Now from a 20 mph roll I got nothing to worry about, it's trying to out-launch them that's tough.

Anchor 2710, haven't had a problem with one yet. Maybe I can't can't tune enough power out of the trucks.

Couldn't agree with you more. I know mine doesn't get out of the hole to well.

In Diesel Power mag, there's a guy who makes the mounts out of polyurethane for drag guys, I think. (not "dude looks like a lady" drag; I meant the racers)

Just automatics in general vs. stick trucks.

I really like tuning on the non-intercooled trucks because they are so responsive to pump tweaks. You can knock 4 seconds off the 1/4 mile time with pump tweaks and a 3200 RPM spring. Not bad for $15 worth of parts.

Quoted for truth. .... dude i still can't believe that truck ran a 14 with what little was done to it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=viIXxW9l6ug

c12h26c is a good guy to talk to on this forum about making non i/c trucks fast. He takes non i/c 727 trucks and puts a water air cooler on it and cranks the pump, welds the rear carrier and runs low 13's all day.

Mines a 4x4 so no issues like yours. I know your fixing it right but I would have welded it.

before i took the Cummins out of my D250 90 non-I/C and put it into my W250 91 I/C. The 90 had a 5spd with 4.10's and im one turn from runaway, bottomed star wheel, plastic washer in the ash tray, cone air filter on the turbo (still stock H1C), 3" straight piped into 5" stacks. Take off in 2nd gear, let the clutch out and hit the throttle (not drop the clutch), and soon as she built 20 psi both tires broke loose and slide sideways down both lanes then boost would max at 33psi (hit 40 once on a steep grade) and the tires would stop spinnin till i grabbed 3rd and built boost again. What a rush, and i miss the faces i got when i'd do that in front of a bunch of rice grinders or kids i know that think their stuffs better than everyone elses. I havent taken the 91 out yet, still not done with it. It has a 5spd but with 3.54's so i dont know how she will do. It has my 90 Cummins but with the 91's intercooler. so thats a little bit of a +.
