is your transmission a 518 or 727? i had that problem with my truck but without any load, turned out to be burnt up clutches witch caused some major slipping.

i mean did it smoke before when towing in the same condition?
if so whats changed since then?
did it always kick out of over drive?

Put in a 3200 RPM spring and you won't need no stinkin' overdrive.

No this is the first big laod with the new car and all the gear, and i never have no more then a hazz when it kicks down i thought i should have a black cloud. But i think im de fueling because if i can get it into overdrive it starts to pull more i feel it so ill try it agian an get some boost numbers and then ill go from there.I need a fuell pin and 3200 spring and it should help right ?

When it kicks down, the engine is already under load and the turbo is making good boost, that is why you aren't getting a cloud of smoke.

The 3200 RPM spring will let you pull faster in direct drive, you should be able to hit 110-120 kph if you wish to go that fast.

If your EGT's are OK, go ahead and add the fuel pin, that will help it pull harder in every gear. Have you rotated the stock pin to the deep side yet?

Also check the TPS adjustment. It might just be set to kick down too easy.

FWIW, 35s and 3.54s aren't optimal for towing. I've got 285s and 3.54s and when I tow my travel trailer, about 6000#, there's many grades that I'm down to 45mph and that's all she's got! I've got the go pedal mashed to the floor so hard my leg gets tired! But then, my truck's pretty much stock. Also, you want to keep it out of OD when the revs drop below 1600 or you could fry the OD. A performance converter could help so the power gets to the pavement.

I agree with checking the TPS. I don't think it should be kicking out of overdrive at that speed- third gear will put you too close to redline and you won't have any room to accelerate.

If you haven't already ditch the stock T/C and get a tighter one it makes a BIG improvement. If I remember right ( getting old) the stock converters only put 60% of the power to the ground

If you want to tow get rid of the 35s or regear your truck. You are losing all of your torque to those big wheels.

X2 on the TC as well. The stock unit sucks.

BTW how long have you had your truck and where did you buy it?
