I have power side mirrors, but they really are not good for my towing needs- my horse trailer is way too wide for them. I need good wide tow mirrors. I am not married to the idea of needing power mirrors either. My 93 way back in the day had the tow mirrors, they came with the truck stock I think- it was a dually though.

They weren't the greatest looking things on earth, maybe there is something better now for our trucks?

I use the tried and true stainless swing-out camper mirrors. They're from a Ford.

My 81 came with something similar to that. I hated them because they always vibrated. I replaced them with West Coast trucker junior I think the where called. No longer made the last time I checked. They connected above and below the window.

Bigredbrick....that's an interesting bracket and mounting arrangement.....did you build those brackets yourself, or can you buy them? And those are the GM mirrors correct?

I'm still not done. I don't have a shop like some people! I'm going to move the support bracket inside the door forward, plug/weld up the holes and maybe a brace inside the door from bracket to ? if I can clear the window.

Easiest way to go is a low mount set up which I think you can still buy.

This is exactly what my 93 came with. I might just go with them. I also have the same cab as you on my truck i have now LOL

I just use a set of **** slip on mirror extensions. They go over the stock OEM. I only need them when hauling hay or something else really wide that hangs over the gooseneck sides so I run stock 99% of the time and just slip them on & off as needed.
I put a flat bed on my M880 though and added the swingout type camper mirrors with the frog eyes like u2slow has. I like them but they do create a blind spot that you have to be aware of. Plus they catch branches & bushes if your driving in that type of terrain.

One of the problems I find with the style mirrors u2slow has pictured, is they do not fit through my narrow garage door.

Might not be a problem for most, but it is something I have to think about.

I have a wide enough door, and just enough room between my 2-post lift columns.

You can also loosen one bolt and flip them inboard; but that trick is useless if your bed/body is 7' wide or beyond.

Any idea where to get the original flip tow mirrors like you have?

Mine aren't original. They're stamped Ford. My primary part source is from parts-trucks.

These are very similar to my ford ones. Which is also very close to factory 73-87 Chevy.
