Question STILL getting white/grey smoke??

Alright as you know new pump is installed, had an issue with #1 injector ,replaced that,Im getting good fuel off of all 6 inj now when cracked with engine running.Although #3 is not quite as high volume as the rest ,fuel still seems to be not quite as clean but a good spray non the less.I replaced the fuel filter with one of those bigger ones (just for good measure) I am still getting whitish/grey smoke while idling.I dont notice a miss anymore really, I guess there could still be one. When I romp down on it while sitting still I do get a shot of black smoke mixed in.Im lost ,what next dudes???

Sounds like the timing is retarded. Timing varies from pump to pump, so if you just lined up marks you should advance the pump until the white smoke goes away.

When you say advance the pump will that put the mark on the pump below or above the mark on the timing case.(Please excuse my ignorance on this matter)And is this just a matter of loosening the 3 mounting nuts and slightly rotating the pump? Thanks Wanna

To advance timing, loosen those 3 nuts and the hard line running from the pump to the head, and rotate the pump towards the head.

Do I need to do anything else 1st i.e locking the shaft on the pump or pushing in the timing pin into the timing case ? Just want to cover all my bases before I make something worse.

Nope. Just mark where it is now so you can put it back if you don't like it.
